It's already well established that social networks provide recognizable brands with the means to connect with consumers outside of traditional advertising. However, the proliferation of these social media initiatives creates additional risk for businesses online. Anyone online, real customer or not, with negative feedback, now has a relevant forum to air grievances. The successful infiltration by only a few well equipped brand assassins can quickly place a brand under siege with loss of equity as the inevitable result.
