Zappos currently stocks and sells over 3mm shoes, apparel and accessories from over 1,500 brands. Our focus on service has resulted in rapid growth since 1999 and we are projecting $1 billion in 2008. The original idea for Las Vegas based Zappos.com was to create a web site that offered the absolute best selection of shoes in terms of brands, styles, colors, sizes, and widths. Over the past 8 years, the Zappos brand and our aspirations have evolved, and in addition to offering the best selection, we now want to be the company that provides the absolute best service online -- not just in shoes, but eventually in any category.

Zappos.com has grown to over 1,600 employees, and we believe that the most important key to our continued success is our service-oriented culture. We spend a lot of time and effort working on ways to constantly improve our culture. As one example, every new employee hired in our corporate office goes through 4 weeks of Customer Loyalty training (including how to WOW and answering phones in our call center) before starting the job that he/she was actually hired for.

To us, customer service isn't just a department -- it is the entire company.

Our hope is that our focus on service will allow us to WOW our customers, our employees, our vendors, and our investors.
