and expert poster at WebmasterWorld, one of the Web’s oldest and most-respected message forums.

For more than a dozen years Ulle’s unmatched energy and insight into search engines has helped shape WebmasterWorld into the authoritative technology forum it is today. During this time, Ulle — known online as Tedster — has written nearly 37,000 helpful, clear, and insightful posts for WebmasterWorld, some of which have helped countless webmasters become successful business owners, including Pubcon Las Vegas 2012 keynote speaker Shakil Khan, head of special projects at Spotify and a fellow longtime WebmasterWorld contributor.

executive Brett Tabke surprised Ulle with the lifetime achievement award presentation in front of the large keynote audience assembled to hear Khan — known as Shak on the forums and elsewhere online — speak about his rise from WebmasterWorld member and moderator to playing a key role in the success of online music powerhouse Spotify.

In one of the most emotional public moments at any of Pubcon’s decade-plus series of events, Tabke praised Ulle’s ceaseless contributions to the WebmasterWorld community and called him up onto the stage to receive a large clear shining glass award, the first in the history of either WebmasterWorld or Pubcon.

“Ted has been one of the most outstanding moderators and admins I have ever seen,” Tabke noted later. “He is a proactive diplomat and is willing to work with anyone, regardless of who they are or where they live. He has had the unique ability to connect with people all over the world. His

development skills are second to none, and his SEO (search engine optimization) skills are beyond most books on the subject. We have been blessed and honored to know and work with Ted for all these years. I doubt there is a website on the Internet that hasn’t been touched by Ted in some way. From Fortune 500s to a massive list of independents, Ted has worked with everyone on some level,” Tabke added.

Search engine pioneer Ulle thanked Tabke and those in attendance for the award, which read: “WebmasterWorld Lifetime Achievement Award Presented To Administrator Ted ‘Tedster’ Ulle: In sincere appreciation for exemplary community service,” and Khan soon took to the stage for his keynote address. remainder of Pubcon Ulle’s name echoed through the busy halls, crowded expo halls and packed session rooms, as some of the most tech-savvy attendees and speakers in the industry congratulated the longtime WebmasterWorld treasure on the well-deserved recognition.

Neil Marshall, WebmasterWorld director of forum operations, was among those offering praise to Ulle. “Ted has proven over many years to be selfless in his dedication to the community here at WebmasterWorld,” Marshall said. “I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this lifetime achievement award,” he added.

The day was a celebration of both Ulle and WebmasterWorld, as in addition to Ulle’s award and Khan’s keynote, earlier that morning Tabke had announced the sale of WebmasterWorld to Pubcon platinum sponsor Internet Marketing Ninjas, where the forums were expected to move forward under the ownership of founder and chief executive Jim Boykin, also a longtime WebmasterWorld member, and under the continued direction of Marshall. Tabke retained ownership of Pubcon Inc., which operates the conference series.

We congratulate Ulle for his excellence in contributing to WebmasterWorld and to the growth of the Web as a whole.
