SHAKIL KHAN: WEBMASTERWORLD HELPED ON PATH TO $4 BILLION SUCCESS

Khan — known as Shak — was instrumental in the growth of phenomenally popular online music service Spotify, and has been a longtime contributor to WebmasterWorld.com and was an early Pubcon supporter.

Khan was an early investor in Spotify, where he retained a role as an adviser to co-founder and chief executive Daniel Ek, and he is certain to light up Pubcon Las Vegas 2012 with his keynote presentation in October.

Khan joined WebmasterWorld’s message forums back in 2002 and was a founding member of the popular “Forum 78” dedicated to Google advertising. As a self proclaimed “start-up guy,” Khan has operated a number of online businesses in the U.K. since 2000, and was part of the founding team at buy.at which went on to be acquired by AOL.

Khan has done extensive volunteer work as an ambassador for charity : water, having helped raise millions of dollars for safe and clean drinking water. Having lived in China, Khan speaks Chinese (as well as English, Punjabi, Urdu, and Danish) and currently splits his time between London, San Francisco and airport lounges. Khan is an investor in SecondMarket, Top10, Spotify and Path.
