Spotify become a $4 billion success and who is now the firm’s head of special projects, Dr. Robert Cialdini, professor emeritus of psychology and marketing at Arizona State University, social psychologist, and author of the bestselling book “Influence: Science & Practice,” and pioneering digital marketing writer Doc Searls, co-author of “The Cluetrain Manifesto,” for Pubcon’s strongest ever keynote lineup.

During Pubcon Las Vegas 2012 Cutts will share a not-to-be-missed lunchtime presentation featuring his unique and always-fascinating Google insider’s take on the world’s most popular search firm and what the future of search holds, followed by a rare period of question and answer time with Pubcon audience members.


Khan — known as Shak — was instrumental in the growth of phenomenally popular online music service Spotify, and has been a longtime contributor to and was an early Pubcon supporter.

Khan was an early investor in Spotify, where he retained a role as an adviser to co-founder and chief executive Daniel Ek, and he is certain to light up Pubcon Las Vegas 2012 with his keynote presentation in October.

Khan joined WebmasterWorld’s message forums back in 2002 and was a founding member of the popular “Forum 78” dedicated to Google advertising. As a self proclaimed “start-up guy,” Khan has operated a number of online businesses in the U.K. since 2000, and was part of the founding team at which went on to be acquired by AOL.

Khan has done extensive volunteer work as an ambassador for charity : water, having helped raise millions of dollars for safe and clean drinking water. Having lived in China, Khan speaks Chinese (as well as English, Punjabi, Urdu, and Danish) and currently splits his time between London, San Francisco and airport lounges. Khan is an investor in SecondMarket, Top10, Spotify and Path.


Cialdini, an internationally-known expert in the fields of persuasion, compliance, and negotiation, is known as the “Godfather of influence,” and his New York Times bestselling book — listed by Fortune

Searls is a University of California at Santa Barbara research fellow at the Center for Information Technology and Society, focusing on work toward a book about the Internet and infrastructure, provisionally titled The Giant Zero.
