SHAKIL KHAN: WEBMASTERWORLD HELPED ON PATH TO $4 BILLION SUCCESS
Khan — known as Shak — was instrumental in the growth of phenomenally popular online music service Spotify, and has been a longtime contributor to WebmasterWorld.com and was an early Pubcon supporter.
Khan was an early investor in Spotify, where he retained a role as an adviser to co-founder and chief executive Daniel Ek, and he is certain to light up Pubcon Las Vegas 2012 with his keynote presentation in October.
Khan joined WebmasterWorld’s message forums back in 2002 and was a founding member of the popular “Forum 78” dedicated to Google advertising. As a self proclaimed “start-up guy,” Khan has operated a number of online businesses in the U.K. since 2000, and was part of the founding team at buy.at which went on to be acquired by AOL.
Khan has done extensive volunteer work as an ambassador for charity : water, having helped raise millions of dollars for safe and clean drinking water. Having lived in China, Khan speaks Chinese (as well as English, Punjabi, Urdu, and Danish) and currently splits his time between London, San Francisco and airport lounges. Khan is an investor in SecondMarket, Top10, Spotify and Path.
ROBERT CIALDINI BRINGING WORLD-RENOWNED INFLUENCE SCIENCE TO PUBCON
Cialdini, an internationally-known expert in the fields of persuasion, compliance, and negotiation, is known as the “Godfather of influence,” and his New York Times bestselling book — listed by FortuneMagazine as one of the “75 Smartest Business Books” and by CEO Read as one of the “100 Best Business Books of All Time” — has been published in 27 languages to date.

Searls, co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto, the iconoclastic website that became a best-selling book in 2000 and to this day sells around the world in many languages, including a tenth anniversaryedition that came out in 2009, will make his first keynote address to Pubcon audiences in October.
Searls is an alumnus fellow and from 2006-2010 led Harvard University’s ProjectVRM at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, acts as senior editor for Linux Journal, and his newest book, "The Intention Economy: When Customers Take Charge," published by Harvard Business Review Press, has been met with much acclaim.
Searls, whose writing has appeared in the Harvard Business Review, OMNI, Wired, The Standard, PCMagazine, The Sun, Upside, Release 1.0, The Globe & Mail and numerous other publications, will share his vision for the future of online communications with Pubcon audiences this October.
Searls is a University of California at Santa Barbara research fellow at the Center for Information Technology and Society, focusing on work toward a book about the Internet and infrastructure, provisionally titled The Giant Zero.
