Pubcon South 2009!

After a brief hiatus, PubCon returns to two full conferences a year in 2009 with the addition of another spring conference. We think an early spring conference in the south will help shake off that cabin fever and help re-energize, and refocus your business efforts. We are glad to book another big show!

The full three day multi-track PubCon South conference will be held in the uber tech hub of Austin Texas. It will be held on March 11 through 13. Location and hotel arrangements to be announced after PubCon Las Vegas 2008

The dates do not conflict with the film and interactive festival (http://www.SXSW.com). The Austin film and interactive festival begins on Friday after the formal PubCon conference on Thursday. The networking event will be held on Friday.

Austin is home base to the tech titans of Dell Computers and Advanced Micro Designs (AMD). Many large tech research and office centers such as for Samsung, IBM, Freescale, National Instruments, and Motorola are located in Austin. It also features a large contingent of dot coms. The unique combination of hardware, software, and the dot coms, makes Austin one of the most vibrant and active tech centers outside of the Silicon Valley in the US. Austin is sometimes referred to as the Silicon Hills - it is the gateway city to the beautiful Texas Hill Country with it's wall-to-wall trees and spectacular rolling countryside.

Sixth Street

Austin is one of the great party and music towns in the USA. Behind Bourbon street and the Las Vegas strip, Austin's sixth street is well known for a quality party experience ;-) Forbes magazine recently rated Austin as one of America's Hardest drinking cities. That honor is in part, due to Austin's famous sixth street. We think a (umm several) sixth street bar crawls will be in order.

Live Music Capital of US

Austin is also the Live Music Capital of the USA. There are more live bands playing on a Friday night per capita than any other city in the world. Austin has a very active music scene. After PubCon, stick around for the world famous South by South West Film and Music Festival (http://www.SXSW.com). Your biggest problem in Austin will be trying to figure out which event to go to as the film and interactive festival is one of the biggest networking events in all of tech.

Speaking Proposals:
We are now accepting speaking proposals. There will be limited speaking opportunities available so please fill one out early as we expect to stop accepting proposals fairly quickly.
