Tim Converse, Engineering Manager, leads the anti–Webspam effort at Yahoo! Search, as well as other initiatives in automatic document classification and ranking. Tim has 10 years´ experience in the Internet industry, and specifically in the Web search engine industry for six years.

Tim came to Yahoo! via the acquisition of Inktomi Corporation, where he worked as an engineer in the Crawler group. Prior to Inktomi, Tim was a software engineer in the Web search group at Excite@Home. Tim is also a co–author of The PHP5 and MySQL Bible, a guide to the PHP Web programming language, published by Wiley Press.

Tim holds a BA in Mathematics and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago.
