Ralf got into e-commerce, when he opened one of the first internet shopping malls in Germany in 1995 at the age of 22. His background as a game developer and book author on the Commodore AMIGA helped him to thrive in the new internet era.
He is an active member of the Linux community and sponsors serveral Open Source projects with time and money.
In 2004 he started Tradebit.com as a trading platform for digital goods (downloads). This platform currently runs on a self-made LAMP cluster of 11 nodes and serves more than 2.5 million downloads daily (September 2007) for several thousand merchants.
The economy magazine "Wirtschaftswoche" selected him as one of the most interesting entrepreneurs in Germany for 2007.
