Josh's diverse background and eclectic group of skills brought him to A Small Orange in December of 2010. After starting his career and spending several years as an *IT guy* supporting Linux and Windows environments Josh realized he enjoyed interacting with the people he supported much more than the servers. He quickly moved out of the server room and into a sales role where he brokered networking equipment. It was here Josh learned how to really build relationships with his customers. Everyone's needs were unique and Josh was successful by uncovering and meeting those needs. After the world of brokering hardware became somewhat redundant Josh moved into the mysterious world of search engine optimation (SEO). Oddly enough the opportunity allowed him to interact more with open source communities. Josh began to apply open source principles to his work in sales, marketing , and partnerships. With newfound knowledge in all areas of online marketing Josh began training and speaking all over the country. Occasionally changing things up with a talk entitled "If You Give the Milk Away for Free They'll Buy the Cow" which is all about applying open source principles to the sales process. Now Josh brings all those skills and experiences together as the Director of Sales and Marketing at A Small Orange. He works hard to put his team and the company into the best possible environment to succeed by providing the right tools, resources, and opportunities.

Josh is originally from Southeast Texas, but has called Austin home for almost 20 years. He met his wife, Clesha, in high school while playing basketball. Josh also played college football at the Colorado School of Mines, and once ate his weight in raw gulf oysters. On the weekends, Josh avidly avoids yard work by spending quality time with Clesha and their four kids, who all call him "Big Daddy".
