Grant Crowell is a freelance columnist in the online marketing space and the Founder of Grantastic Designs, an online marketing solutions firm established in 1996, specializing in search-optimized, user-friendly web design and multimedia content, including video and podcasting solutions for commercial enterprises, video solutions providers, non-profits, and academic and government organizations.

Grant is a columnist in the online marketing and video technology space. He is a regular columnist for Search Marketing Standard and, and a contributing columnist to Search Engine Watch and Search Engine Land. Currently he is working on a white paper tentatively titled, “Video SEO solutions for the U.S. Newspaper Industry.

Grant's areas of expertise include video search engine optimization (VSEO), video usability, video eMetrics, video and social media optimization (VSMO) legal issues, ethics and social responsibilitiesv of online video, professional vs. user-generated content vs. employee-based content of video, advertising platforms, content platforms, and the synergy of metadata between publishers and software developers.

Grant is a year-round analyst and interviewer in his coverage of both the latest and time-tested “best practices” with online video. Grant carries a traditional media background includes being a former talk-show host for Hawaii radio stations, and a documentary film producer on first amendment issues in academia. Grant has facilitated video interviews and panel discussions with leading vendors, analysts, and thought leaders across technology, marketing, academia, and government.

Grant also teaches Digital Project Management at McHenry County College, and is a consultant for the school's Second Life Program.
